Minor alleges abuse by parents in Gujarat; both taken into custody

A teenager in Gujarat's Kutch district has come forward with allegations of sexual abuse by her father and complicity by her mother, prompting police action against both parents. The 14-year-old girl filed formal complaints through emergency helplines 112 and the state women's helpline 181 Abhayam, detailing the alleged abuse. According to the complaint, the girl was allegedly confined and beaten at home after being found in phone contact with a boy, following which her father allegedly perpetrated the sexual assault. The mother is accused of facilitating the abuse. Police registered cases under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. Both the accused parents have been taken into custody for further questioning and investigation. The case has been registered at the local police station in Kutch district. Authorities have initiated standard procedures for victim support and counseling, with further investigation underway.
