MIRI — Authorities have approved a RM30 million special allocation to rebuild roads on Canada Hill, addressing years of instability that has plagued the Sarawak locality. The funding has been secured under the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP), marking a major commitment to remediate the landslide-prone area.
Canada Hill has long been identified as susceptible to landslide activity, with deteriorating road conditions creating safety concerns for residents and commuters. The comprehensive reconstruction project is expected to implement enhanced structural measures and improved drainage systems to mitigate future geological risks.
Planned works are scheduled to commence in 2027, allowing time for detailed engineering assessments and project planning.
