The girl's body was discovered in Goa, a municipality in Camarines Sur province, nearly two weeks after she went missing from Ligao City. Police Col. Tyrone Dotimas, director of the Camarines Sur Police Provincial Office, confirmed the discovery and disclosed preliminary findings from the forensic examination.

Based on the initial medical assessment, investigators suspect the teenager may have died from strangulation, though a full autopsy is expected to provide more definitive conclusions about the cause of death. The circumstances surrounding her disappearance and death remain under investigation.

The case has been taken up by the provincial police office as they work to establish a timeline of events and identify any persons of interest in connection with the girl's death. Authorities have appealed for witnesses or anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward.
