Rajinikanth has revealed details about bringing Mithun Chakraborty into the cast of Jailer 2, the sequel to the successful 2023 action thriller. According to the superstar, Mithun agreed to take on the role of 'Tiger' Muthuvel Pandian only after securing a specific stipulation about how his character would be portrayed in the film.

The condition centered on the nature of physical confrontation between the two actors' characters. Mithun reportedly insisted that his character should neither engage in violent combat with Rajinikanth's protagonist nor use firearms against him during their on-screen encounters. This demand became a prerequisite for the seasoned performer's participation in the project.

The development underscores the nuanced negotiations that often accompany major film productions in South Indian cinema, particularly when established actors of comparable stature collaborate. Both Rajinikanth and Mithun Chakraborty have maintained prominent positions in Indian cinema for decades, bringing significant clout to their respective roles.

Jailer 2 is expected to continue the narrative threads established in the original film, which was directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and achieved notable commercial success. The sequel's cast expansion with Mithun signals the production's ambitions to broaden its appeal across regional audiences, particularly in West Bengal and pan-India markets where the actor commands considerable recognition.
