Mivi, known primarily for its audio accessories and wearables portfolio, is pivoting into smartphone manufacturing with the introduction of its first handset, the Mivi One 5G. The company has scheduled the device launch for September 24, marking a significant expansion of its product ecosystem.
The Mivi One 5G will be manufactured in Hyderabad, leveraging India's growing domestic smartphone production capacity. This manufacturing decision aligns with government initiatives to boost local electronics manufacturing and reduce import dependence in the sector.
The device will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 5G chipset, positioning it within the mid-to-premium segment. Mivi has partnered with Flipkart for distribution, tapping into the e-commerce platform's extensive reach across Indian markets.
The launch represents Mivi's ambition to diversify beyond its established presence in audio accessories.
