Mixed Oil Price Movements Expected in Philippines This Week
Motorists in the Philippines will face higher fuel costs this week as gasoline and kerosene prices climb, while diesel prices decline slightly. The adjustments reflect ongoing concerns about global supply disruptions linked to Middle East tensions.

MANILA – Fuel prices in the Philippines are set for a mixed performance this week, with pump prices showing divergent trends across different fuel types. Effective Tuesday, October 6, gasoline prices are expected to increase by P1.90 per liter, while kerosene will rise more sharply by P3.30 per liter, according to industry reports. Diesel, by contrast, is anticipated to decrease by P1.30 per liter.
The price adjustments reflect the volatile international oil market, which continues to be influenced by geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. Supply concerns stemming from the regional conflict have kept crude prices elevated, translating into higher costs for consumers at the pump across the archipelago.
The divergence in price movements across fuel types underscores the complex dynamics affecting the energy market. While gasoline and kerosene will burden household budgets and transportation costs, the diesel price reduction may provide some relief for commercial operators and logistics companies that rely heavily on the fuel.
Motor vehicle owners and transport operators are advised to monitor official announcements from the Department of Energy for confirmed price adjustments, as actual implementation may vary based on final market assessments.
