Mizoram's education department has rolled out the Lunglei Gen-AI Mission, a comprehensive programme designed to introduce artificial intelligence concepts to approximately 5,500 school-level students across the state. The initiative, formally titled Lunglei's Gen-Alpha, Empowered by AI, represents a significant push to integrate emerging technologies into the regional education system.

The programme targets students at the school level, providing structured training to enhance their understanding of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and related technological domains. By exposing young learners to AI fundamentals early in their academic journey, the mission seeks to build a digitally literate workforce capable of competing in modern job markets.

The Mizoram government's focus on AI education reflects broader concerns across India about preparing students for technology-driven careers. As artificial intelligence increasingly influences sectors ranging from healthcare to agriculture, policymakers have emphasized the need for early exposure to these technologies in schools.

The initiative is expected to position Mizoram as a centre for technological innovation in Northeast India, potentially attracting investment in the technology sector while equipping local youth with skills relevant to contemporary employment opportunities.
