mm2 Asia and subsidiary face over $219k in CPF payment arrears
The former Cathay cinema operator and its wholly owned subsidiary mm2 Entertainment have accumulated significant outstanding Central Provident Fund obligations, raising fresh concerns about the group's financial position.

mm2 Asia and its wholly owned subsidiary mm2 Entertainment are facing combined CPF arrears exceeding $219,000, regulatory filings have revealed. The subsidiary alone carries an outstanding amount of $210,843.50 in Central Provident Fund contributions owed to its employees.
The disclosure marks another financial setback for the group, which previously operated Cathay cinemas before exiting that business. The accumulation of CPF arrears suggests ongoing cash flow pressures affecting the company's ability to meet statutory employee obligations.
CPF arrears are a serious matter in Singapore, with employers required to make regular contributions on behalf of their workers. Failure to remit these amounts in a timely manner can result in regulatory action and penalties from the Central Provident Fund Board.
The development comes as mm2 Asia navigates a challenging operating environment. It remains unclear whether the company has since settled the outstanding amounts or established a payment arrangement with authorities.
LSN News has reached out to mm2 Asia for comment on the arrears and any steps being taken to resolve the matter.
