Modi expected to visit Delhi University college on Teachers' Day

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to visit Delhi University's prestigious Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) on September 5, according to sources familiar with the matter. The date coincides with Teachers' Day and the college's 100th anniversary year, making it a significant occasion for the institution.

The proposed visit aligns with the Bharatiya Janata Party's broader strategy to strengthen its outreach to younger voters and educational institutions across the country. Modi last visited SRCC in 2013 when he was Chief Minister of Gujarat.

The Prime Minister has already acknowledged the college's milestone achievements this year. In April, he met with the institution's Governing Body and a delegation at his residence to commemorate the centenary. During that engagement, Modi released a special commemorative postage stamp dedicated to SRCC's hundred-year legacy.

Shri Ram College of Commerce, established in 1926, is one of India's leading undergraduate commerce institutions and has produced numerous accomplished alumni across business, government, and public service sectors. The institution's centenary celebrations have garnered significant national attention throughout 2024.
