Modi expresses confidence in BRICS Summit for constructive global dialogue

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed confidence Friday that the BRICS Summit will facilitate positive and meaningful exchanges among world leaders on a range of pressing issues. "I am fully confident that there will be positive and meaningful discussions on various issues with a shared wish for global welfare," Modi said in a statement on social media.

India is hosting the summit on September 12-13, serving as the convening point for one of the world's most significant multilateral forums. The gathering will bring together leaders from the 11 BRICS member nations alongside representatives from 10 partner countries, along with delegations from select international organisations.

The summit is expected to draw prominent global figures, including Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping, and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, among others. The presence of these major powers signals the high-profile nature of discussions anticipated at the event.

As the current chair of BRICS, India has positioned the summit as a platform for advancing shared developmental priorities and fostering consensus on global governance matters. The meeting comes amid evolving geopolitical dynamics affecting member nations and their collective interests on the world stage.
