Modi extends Vijayadashami wishes, calls for renewed strength and prosperity

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday extended his greetings to the nation on Vijayadashami, one of India's most widely celebrated festivals. In a message posted on social media in Hindi, Modi wished citizens joy and renewed determination as they mark the occasion.

"May this festival of victory, filled with joy and faith, empower everyone's resolve with renewed strength," Modi stated. He added that his sincere wish was for "every life to be enriched with happiness, prosperity, and success."

Vijayadashami commemorates Lord Rama's triumph over Ravana, the demon king of legend, and represents the enduring victory of good over evil. The festival, which culminates a ten-day period of rituals, performances and processions, sees celebrations across the country as devotees gather to witness the ceremonial burning of Ravana effigies, marking the symbolic defeat of evil forces.

The observance remains one of the most significant festivals in the Indian calendar, drawing participation from communities nationwide in festivities that blend religious devotion with cultural tradition.
