Modi holds key talks with UAE, Malaysia, Vietnam and Ethiopia leaders

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday engaged in separate bilateral discussions with the leaders of Malaysia, Vietnam, the United Arab Emirates, and Ethiopia, prioritising critical minerals, energy security, and food stability as key agenda items.

During his meeting with Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Modi highlighted the broader geopolitical situation in West Asia and outlined plans to deepen India-UAE cooperation. The Prime Minister emphasised strategic collaboration across defence, artificial intelligence, space technology, critical minerals, energy, food security and regional connectivity. "At a time of uncertainty in West Asia, a strong India-UAE partnership is a symbol of stability, prosperity and peace," Modi stated in remarks following the engagement.

In his discussion with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar bin Ibrahim, Modi reviewed progress across multiple dimensions of bilateral cooperation, including trade, investment, and defence partnerships. The talks reflected India's broader strategy to strengthen ties with regional and global partners at a time when supply chain vulnerabilities have become a strategic concern.

The series of meetings underscores India's commitment to building resilient economic partnerships and addressing shared vulnerabilities in critical sectors. By engaging with diverse partners spanning West Asia, Southeast Asia, and Africa, India is positioning itself as a key player in stabilising global trade and supply chains during a period of elevated geopolitical tension.
