Modi hosts BRICS gala dinner for global leaders in New Delhi

A high-level delegation of central and state leaders attended the ceremonial dinner organised by Prime Minister Modi to welcome BRICS member nations and allied countries participating in the summit. The event underscored India's diplomatic outreach during its tenure as BRICS chair.

Union ministers including Defence Minister Amit Shah, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal, and Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw were among those who attended. The delegation also included Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan of Madhya Pradesh, Sarbananda Sonowal of Assam, and Kiren Rijiju, the Minister of Earth Sciences. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla was also present at the gathering.

Chief ministers from several states travelled with the Union ministers to the venue under strict security protocols. The delegation included Yogi Adityanath of Uttar Pradesh, Devendra Fadnavis of Maharashtra, Suvendu Adhikari of West Bengal, Himanta Biswa Sarma of Assam, Pushkar Singh Dhami of Uttarakhand, and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. The senior officials departed from Parliament House in secured convoys.

The seating arrangement at the dinner was strategically organised to facilitate interaction between Indian dignitaries and international delegates. Each table hosted ministers and chief ministers alongside representatives from different nations, fostering bilateral engagement during the formal dinner event.
