Modi meets Ethiopian PM to strengthen bilateral ties and cooperation

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed to review bilateral relations and explore avenues for enhanced cooperation between the two nations. The bilateral engagement covered perspectives on contemporary regional and international developments of mutual concern to New Delhi and Addis Ababa.

Both leaders reiterated their commitment to strengthening ties across multiple domains and working closely within multilateral forums where India and Ethiopia have shared interests and objectives. The Ministry of External Affairs said the discussions underscored the importance of deepening India-Ethiopia relations in the current geopolitical context.

The meeting comes as India continues to expand its diplomatic footprint across Africa, with Ethiopia serving as a key partner given its position in the Horn of Africa region and its role in the African Union.
