Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Chennai on Tuesday for a day-long programme focused on inaugurating multiple development initiatives across the city. The visit underscores the Centre's commitment to infrastructure expansion in Tamil Nadu's capital, with projects collectively worth more than Rs 13,000 crore slated for launch.

As part of the visit, Modi will travel on the Chennai Metro, riding the urban rail system from Porur Bypass Station to Poonamallee Bypass Station and making the return journey. The metro ride is expected to showcase the city's progress on mass rapid transit infrastructure.
