Monsoon disasters claim 70 lives across India and Nepal

Nepal has reported 14 fatalities so far, with significant damage reported across mountainous regions particularly vulnerable to landslides during the monsoon season. The Himalayan nation's infrastructure, already strained by previous disasters, faces additional pressure as rainfall persists.

Meteorological departments across the region have warned of continued heavy precipitation in the coming days, prompting authorities to issue flood alerts and evacuation orders in low-lying areas. Government agencies have established relief camps for displaced populations and are coordinating cross-border assistance efforts to address the humanitarian emergency.
