Monsoon, shear line to drench parts of Luzon Thursday

Luzon residents should brace for wet conditions on Thursday as two weather systems converge over the region, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

The northeast monsoon, locally known as amihan, combined with an active shear line will bring cloudy skies and rain to multiple parts of the island. Pagasa meteorologists expect the wet weather to persist throughout the day, affecting communities across the affected areas.

Residents in vulnerable low-lying and mountainous areas are advised to remain vigilant for potential flooding and landslides. The weather bureau recommends that the public monitor updates regularly and take necessary precautions as the weather systems continue to influence atmospheric conditions over Luzon.

Pagesa said conditions may gradually improve as the weather systems move or weaken, though residents should remain prepared for sustained rainfall and possible hazardous conditions during the day.
