Indonesia's Mount Semeru has entered a period of heightened volcanic activity, with seven separate eruptions recorded in a single day. Ash columns reached approximately 1,000 metres above the volcano's peak during the most intense bursts.

Mount Semeru, located in East Java, experienced a series of seven eruptions, with the most significant ash emissions occurring in the early morning hours. The highest ash plumes were recorded during two separate eruptions at 5:58 a.m. and 8:02 a.m. local time, both sending ash columns roughly 1,000 metres skyward from the volcano's summit.
The repeated volcanic activity underscores the ongoing restlessness at one of Java's most active volcanic peaks. Authorities continue to monitor seismic activity and gas emissions to assess the volcano's behaviour and any potential risks to nearby communities and infrastructure.
