Mourinho: No player untouchable at Real Madrid despite stellar form

Mourinho's comments came in response to questions about Vinicius Junior's place in the lineup following the impressive recent displays by Yan Diomande. The Portuguese tactician made clear that performance metrics alone would dictate team selection decisions at the Bernabéu.

"Performance is what matters," Mourinho emphasized when asked whether the Brazilian winger's position faced any uncertainty. The manager's stance underscores a merit-based approach to squad management, where established stars must continually justify their inclusion through consistent displays on the field.

Diomande's recent form has attracted attention within the club, prompting speculation about potential lineup changes. However, Mourinho's declaration suggests that any alteration to the team's composition will hinge on sustained excellence rather than on fixed hierarchies or contractual status.

The Real Madrid manager's philosophy reflects broader principles in modern football management, where squad rotation and performance-based selection have become standard practice at elite clubs. His comments signal that all players, regardless of profile or previous achievements, must maintain high standards to secure their place in the starting eleven.
