MANILA — Children aged 17 and below will ride free on the Metro Rail Transit 3 (MRT-3) and Light Rail Transit 2 (LRT-2) on Wednesday, November 4, the two rail operators announced. The initiative marks the country's celebration of National Children's Month.
According to separate advisories from both transit lines, the free rides will be offered between 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. Minors wishing to avail themselves of the promotion are advised to present valid identification at ticket counters or turnstiles during the designated window.
The move forms part of ongoing efforts by Metro Manila's public transportation system to support the welfare and mobility of the country's youth. Both MRT-3 and LRT-2 regularly serve millions of commuters daily across the capital region.
Commuters are encouraged to plan their travel accordingly during the morning service hours, as increased passenger volume is expected during the promotional period.
