MSRTC grants ₹10,000 Diwali bonus to 83,000 staff, raises DA

The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has unveiled a Diwali relief package for its workforce, announcing a ₹10,000 bonus for all 83,000 employees alongside a hike in dearness allowance (DA) to 60 percent. The announcement comes as the festival season approaches, providing financial support to staff members across the transport undertaking.

MSRTC operates one of India's most extensive public transport networks, maintaining a fleet of nearly 15,000 buses that serve approximately 55 lakh passengers on a daily basis. The corporation's operations span multiple states, making it the country's largest state-run public transport undertaking by scale and reach.

The DA increase to 60 percent represents a significant adjustment to employee compensation, reflecting efforts to address inflation and cost-of-living pressures faced by the transport corporation's workforce. The combined effect of the festive bonus and DA hike is expected to provide substantial relief to MSRTC employees during the peak festive period.

The announcement underscores the corporation's commitment to employee welfare amid operational demands. With the scale of MSRTC's daily commuter base and extensive route network, the decision impacts a substantial workforce that forms the backbone of regional public transportation infrastructure.
