Authorities in Srinagar have successfully dismantled a major drug trafficking module operating across state lines, marking a significant victory in efforts to combat pharmaceutical drug abuse in the region. The operation yielded a substantial cache of contraband materials, underscoring the scale of illicit drug distribution networks active in the area.

According to police statements issued Thursday, the haul included more than 2.19 lakh tablets and capsules of pharmaceutical drugs diverted from legitimate medical channels. The seizure represents one of the larger pharmaceutical narcotics recoveries in recent operations across Jammu and Kashmir.

Beyond the primary drug cache, investigators recovered substantial quantities of cash and gold, along with a firearm and other valuables allegedly used in the criminal enterprise. The recovery of weapons indicates the trafficking network's potential links to organized crime and its capacity for violence.

Police officials indicated that the module had developed supply chains spanning multiple states, suggesting a sophisticated distribution infrastructure. The investigation has expanded focus toward identifying upstream suppliers and downstream distribution networks that may be connected to the busted operation.

The dismantling of this inter-state drug network reflects intensified law enforcement coordination aimed at disrupting pharmaceutical narcotics trafficking, which has emerged as a significant public health and criminal justice concern across South Asia.
