The Fire and Rescue Department received its first distress call regarding flash flooding in Johor Bahru at 3.20pm, prompting emergency response teams to be dispatched to affected areas across the state capital.
Several localities in the city experienced significant water inundation as heavy rainfall swept through the region. Emergency personnel were engaged in rescue and relief operations to assist affected residents and clear waterlogged streets.
The sudden onset of the floods highlighted the vulnerability of certain areas in Johor Bahru to heavy precipitation, particularly during monsoon seasons when such incidents become more common.
