MANILA — The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) has warned of scattered to widespread rainfall expected across the country on Saturday as multiple weather disturbances affect different parts of the archipelago.
According to Pagasa's 5 a.m. weather advisory, the northeast monsoon, locally known as amihan, will continue its influence over the northern and central portions of the country. Simultaneously, easterlies are forecast to bring additional moisture from the Pacific, while a shear line is expected to affect the eastern section of southern Luzon, triggering localized heavy downpours in those areas.
Residents in affected regions are advised to monitor weather updates closely and take necessary precautions against potential flooding and landslides. The combination of these weather systems may result in isolated to scattered thunderstorms and moderate to occasionally heavy rainfall, particularly in eastern and southern areas.
Pagesa continues to issue regular weather advisories to keep the public informed of changing conditions throughout the weekend.
