Mumbai civic body announces Rs 33,000 Diwali bonus for employees

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has announced a Diwali bonus of Rs 33,000 for eligible employees and officials as part of its annual festive season incentive scheme. The enhanced bonus amount marks an increase of Rs 2,000 compared to the previous year's distribution.

According to the civic body's announcement, approximately 93,509 eligible staff members will receive the bonus along with their regular November salary. The decision reflects the corporation's commitment to providing financial support to its workforce during the festival season.

In addition to the main bonus, select categories of employees including certain contractual workers and teachers under the civic administration will also receive separate Bhaubeej festival amounts. The BMC has ensured that the bonuses will be processed and disbursed through the regular salary cycle to minimize administrative delays.

The announcement comes as part of the BMC's standard practice of recognizing employee contributions through festive-season financial benefits. Municipal authorities have confirmed that all eligible personnel have been identified for the disbursement, which is expected to benefit a significant portion of the corporation's workforce during the upcoming festival period.
