Maharashtra police arrested a woman from Mumbai on charges of orchestrating the murder of her daughter-in-law, allegedly paying Rs 3 lakh to contract killers for the crime. Investigators said the accused had enlisted four individuals, including her household domestic worker, to carry out the killing. According to police findings, the accused harboured resentment towards her daughter-in-law, identified as Sapna, after the latter filed a domestic violence complaint against family members. The complaint had prompted the accused to seek revenge through the hired killers. Police said the accused's financial involvement in arranging the murder became a crucial piece of evidence during the investigation. Authorities have registered a first information report and are pursuing further leads to apprehend the other accused individuals named in the case. The investigation revealed the detailed conspiracy that led to the crime, with financial transactions and witness statements corroborating the charges against the primary accused.
