Murder probe takes new turn in Kanpur pharmaceutical tycoon killing

The investigation into the murder of Kanpur pharmaceutical entrepreneur Vineet Manocha has entered a new phase with authorities uncovering a detailed communication trail between key suspects. According to police statements, alleged shooter Vishal Gautam purchased a new SIM card two days before the crime and made six calls to a person identified as Subrat using the new number.

Police have conducted an extensive examination of phone records spanning approximately 1,000 pages across seven mobile numbers associated with the case. Analysis of communication data from May 1 to September 5 revealed around 309 conversations between Subrat and Vishal during this period, indicating sustained contact over several months.

The emergence of this communication pattern has strengthened investigators' theory that the incident was premeditated rather than a spontaneous act. The procurement of a fresh SIM card shortly before the alleged crime is being viewed as a significant development in establishing intent and planning.

Police have also been examining details of Manocha's will, which reportedly names his daughter as a beneficiary, as part of their efforts to establish potential motives in the case. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to build a comprehensive timeline of events leading up to the businessman's death.
