Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has urged Muslims to become role models in their communities by upholding strong moral values and integrity in their everyday actions.
Anwar said that genuine respect for Islam and the Muslim community cannot be imposed or demanded, but must instead be cultivated organically through the exemplary behaviour of Muslims themselves.
"The respect that society shows toward Muslims must stem from the good values demonstrated in daily life," the Prime Minister stated, emphasizing the importance of personal conduct in shaping public perception.
His remarks underscore the government's focus on promoting ethical leadership and moral responsibility within Malaysia's Muslim-majority population. The message aligns with broader efforts to strengthen social cohesion and interfaith understanding in the country.
Anwar's call comes as Malaysia continues to navigate issues related to religious harmony and community relations in an increasingly diverse society.
