My Son, a UNESCO-recognised cultural heritage destination in central Vietnam, is pursuing a multi-faceted strategy to safeguard its historical significance while adapting to modern tourism demands. The site is deepening collaboration with international experts and organisations to advance restoration and conservation efforts, ensuring that ongoing work meets global standards and best practices.

Digital innovation is playing an increasingly central role in the site's operations. My Son is expanding technological applications to improve the visitor experience, from virtual tours and interactive exhibits to digital heritage documentation. These tools enable tourists to engage more deeply with the site's Champa history and architectural significance while reducing physical pressure on vulnerable structures.

Parallel to these efforts, My Son is developing green tourism products that align with Vietnam's broader sustainability objectives. The initiatives focus on environmentally responsible visitor management, reduced carbon footprints, and community engagement. Da Nang, the provincial capital, has positioned itself as a leading green tourism destination and is rolling out 100 new tourism experiences for 2026, creating additional context for heritage-focused attractions like My Son.

Local cultural practices are also being revitalised as part of the broader tourism and heritage strategy. Traditional rituals and ceremonies, such as the M'Nong water trough worship practice, are being reintegrated into tourism programming, connecting visitors with living cultural traditions alongside archaeological heritage.

These complementary initiatives reflect a strategic shift toward sustainable heritage tourism that preserves historical authenticity while supporting economic development and community livelihoods in central Vietnam.
