Myanmar Military Airstrikes Kill Six at NUG Command Base
Military junta warplanes have struck a National Unity Government regional command position, killing at least six people including five PDF fighters and a former air force sergeant. Four others were wounded in the attack, including the regional commander.

Myanmar's military conducted airstrikes on a National Unity Government (NUG) regional command base, resulting in six fatalities and multiple injuries on Thursday. The strike killed five members of the People's Defence Force (PDF) and a former Air Force sergeant who had joined the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM), military sources confirmed.
Four additional personnel were wounded in the bombardment, among them the regional commander overseeing operations at the facility. The extent of injuries sustained by the wounded remains unclear at this stage.
The airstrike represents the latest military action by the junta against opposition forces since the armed conflict intensified following the February 2021 coup. The NUG, which operates as a shadow government opposing military rule, has established command structures across territory it controls in eastern and southeastern Myanmar.
The military junta has repeatedly deployed air power against NUG and PDF positions throughout the country's conflict. Both the NUG and PDF, formed by anti-coup activists and military defectors, have faced sustained aerial bombardment from regime forces over the past two years as civil war continues to destabilize the nation.
