Mysuru's Dasara spectacle creates major traffic snarls across city

Traffic movement came to a standstill in several key areas of Mysuru as residents and visitors thronged the city to witness the grand illumination and drone display organized as part of Dasara festivities. The congestion lasted several hours, with vehicles crawling at a snail's pace through major thoroughfares.

The worst traffic jams were recorded in the vicinity of Mysuru Palace and the Dasara Exhibition grounds, where the spectacular light show and aerial drone performance proved to be major crowd pullers. Commuters reported extended delays, with some routes experiencing near-complete gridlock during peak hours.

City traffic authorities were deployed to manage the flow of vehicles, though the sheer volume of people attempting to reach the venue simultaneously created significant challenges. Parking spaces in the vicinity filled up quickly, forcing many visitors to park their vehicles in peripheral areas and walk to the main attractions.

The Dasara illumination and drone show have become signature events of the annual celebration in Mysuru, drawing participants from across the region. However, the infrastructure constraints and limited traffic management capacity during such high-footfall events continue to pose challenges for city administrators.
