As of September 17, the city had recorded approximately 600 dengue cases, prompting local government officials to authorize the installation of additional beds in hospital hallways. The decision reflects concerns that patient numbers may continue climbing during the peak dengue season.
The hospital's existing ward capacity had already reached full occupancy, creating immediate pressure on facility administrators to expand available treatment space. Officials anticipate the supplementary bed arrangements will provide temporary relief while demand remains elevated.
