Naidu inaugurates museum, flags off electric buses at Tirumala shrine

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu inaugurated multiple development projects at Tirumala on Wednesday, marking a significant push toward modernizing infrastructure at one of India's most significant pilgrimage destinations. The Chief Minister opened the Sri Venkateswara Museum, a new facility aimed at enhancing the visitor experience at the ancient hill shrine, and formally inaugurated the Pilgrim Experience Centre.

During the ceremony, Naidu flagged off 32 electric buses that will operate on the temple premises and surrounding areas. The vehicles have been donated by Reliance Foundation and Bharat Biotech, representing a joint corporate initiative to reduce carbon emissions and improve transport facilities for the thousands of pilgrims who visit Tirumala daily.

The infrastructure upgrades are part of broader efforts to enhance pilgrimage services while addressing environmental concerns. The addition of electric buses is expected to reduce vehicular pollution while providing better mobility options for visitors navigating the hill shrine's terrain.

Naidu's two-day visit highlighted the state government's focus on combining heritage preservation with sustainable development at major pilgrimage sites. The projects underscore efforts to balance religious significance with modern amenities and environmental responsibility.
