Naidu pushes for faster grievance redressal, official accountability

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday emphasized the need for swift and effective redressal of public grievances, instructing the Chief Secretary to convene a meeting with District Collectors to enhance the efficiency of the Public Grievance Redressal System (PGRS).

The directive comes as part of the government's broader push to improve citizen services and administrative responsiveness across the state. Naidu stressed that accountability mechanisms must be strengthened to ensure officials fulfill their responsibilities towards the public without delay.

During the meeting, Naidu also flagged the issue of misinformation surrounding government orders, directing officials to take proactive steps to counter false narratives and ensure accurate communication of policies to the public. He emphasized that clear and transparent dissemination of information would help build public trust and reduce confusion.

The Chief Minister's instructions underscore the state government's commitment to enhancing service delivery and administrative efficiency. The proposed meeting between the Chief Secretary and District Collectors is expected to identify bottlenecks in the grievance redressal process and devise strategies to streamline operations across all districts.

Official sources indicated that the meeting would focus on setting timelines for grievance resolution, ensuring proper documentation, and establishing accountability at each level of the grievance redressal mechanism to prevent delays and lapses.
