Chandrababu Naidu is set to inaugurate Phase-I of the Veligonda Project, positioning the event as a realisation of pledges made over 30 years ago to the people of Andhra Pradesh. The project represents a major water resource development initiative that has faced considerable hurdles since its conception.
Acknowledging the extended timeline and complexities involved, Naidu characterised the project's progression as demanding sustained determination comparable to the legendary efforts of Bhagiratha, the ancient mythological figure credited with bringing the Ganges to earth. Phase-I completion marks a significant achievement after the initiative encountered numerous technical, administrative and financial challenges throughout its development.
The Veligonda Project is expected to address regional water security concerns and support agricultural and irrigation needs across the state. The inauguration underscores the state government's commitment to long-pending infrastructure projects and represents a major milestone in Andhra Pradesh's development agenda.
