NASA has announced fresh assignments for the Boeing Starliner spacecraft, signalling continued confidence in the vehicle despite its extended timeline on a recent crewed mission. The capsule last flew in June 2024, carrying US astronauts Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore to the International Space Station for what began as an eight-to-14-day expedition that required additional duration for the crew's return.
The spacecraft's latest mission marks a significant milestone in NASA's commercial crew programme, which aims to reduce reliance on international partnerships for transporting astronauts to and from the orbiting laboratory.
