The four-member crew of NASA's SpaceX Crew-12 mission will depart the International Space Station on October 7 after spending 237 days conducting microgravity research and supporting station operations. The astronauts will undock their Dragon capsule from the orbiting laboratory and begin their journey back to Earth.

Following undocking, the crew will spend approximately 26 hours in transit before splashing down in the Pacific Ocean off the California coast on October 8. The splashdown will mark the conclusion of an extended mission that has contributed significantly to ongoing scientific research aboard the ISS.

SpaceX's Dragon capsule has become the primary vehicle for transporting NASA astronauts to and from the International Space Station as part of the agency's Commercial Crew Program. The successful completion of long-duration missions such as Crew-12 demonstrates the operational reliability of the commercial partnership.

The return of Crew-12 will allow the crew members to contribute their findings and data collected during their extended stay to the scientific community. Their eight-month mission represents the continued commitment to human spaceflight operations and the advancement of microgravity research.
