The ideathon, coordinated by K-AgTech LaunchPad, a collaborative initiative of Kerala Agricultural University (KAU) and Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (KVASU), brought together innovators from across the country to pitch transformative ideas in veterinary science, animal husbandry and allied agricultural sectors.
The platform provided a launchpad for emerging talent to showcase solutions addressing contemporary challenges in livestock management, disease prevention, sustainable farming practices and value-added agricultural products. Participants included undergraduate and postgraduate students, active researchers and aspiring agri-entrepreneurs seeking to commercialise their innovations.
The ideathon format enabled participants to receive feedback from industry experts, potential investors and academic mentors, facilitating the transition of research-backed concepts into viable business ventures. The initiative reflects growing recognition of the role technology and innovation play in modernising India's agricultural and veterinary sectors.
Vetrix 2026 represents efforts by leading agricultural institutions to nurture an ecosystem that supports next-generation entrepreneurs in addressing sectoral challenges while creating economic opportunities in rural and semi-urban areas across India.
