Naveen Patnaik slams Odisha govt as 'epitome of mismanagement'

Odisha's principal opposition leader Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday criticized the Mohan Charan Majhi-led state government as an 'epitome of mismanagement', while inaugurating the Biju Janata Dal's 'Jan Sampark Padayatra' on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi's birth anniversary.

The month-long public outreach programme marks the BJD's annual initiative to connect with voters and assess ground-level grievances across the state. Patnaik used the launch event to articulate the opposition party's critique of the current administration's governance record.

The padayatra, a traditional foot march format for political engagement, aims to mobilize party workers and gather public feedback on administrative performance during the incumbent government's tenure. By timing the initiative with Gandhi Jayanti, the BJD sought to underscore its commitment to grassroots-level engagement and principles of transparent governance.

The criticism comes amid ongoing political competition in Odisha, where the BJD previously held power before losing the state assembly elections last year. The party has been vocal in its opposition to several policy decisions and administrative measures undertaken by the current dispensation.
