Navy arrests two in alleged Pakistan intelligence leak probe

Two individuals—a civilian driver employed by naval officers and a sailor serving at the Visakhapatnam Naval Base—have been arrested in connection with an alleged intelligence leak to Pakistani operatives. Both suspects have been placed in judicial custody until October 14 as investigations continue.

The arrests are part of a broader probe into suspected espionage activities within naval ranks. According to authorities, 18 personnel in total are now under investigation, including the two arrested individuals. Of these, 13 are Navy personnel, raising concerns about the extent of the alleged security breach.

The investigation centers on suspected transmission of sensitive information to intelligence operatives operating for Pakistan. The nature and scope of the leaked material remains under official scrutiny as interrogations proceed.

The case highlights ongoing security vulnerabilities at major military installations. The Naval Base at Visakhapatnam, one of the Indian Navy's principal operational hubs on the eastern coast, has been at the center of the inquiry. Authorities have not disclosed further details regarding the investigation's progress or the specific information believed to have been compromised.
