The naval deployment includes three fast combat boats and two rigid-hull inflatable vessels, positioned to respond swiftly to flood-affected areas. The mixed fleet provides versatility in navigating varying water conditions and accessing communities in distress.
The 100-strong naval personnel are equipped to conduct search and rescue operations, deliver humanitarian aid, and provide emergency support to residents impacted by flooding. The rapid-response capability of the combat boats allows for swift deployment across waterways, while the inflatable vessels offer manoeuvrability in shallow or congested waters.
With a naval helicopter maintained on standby, the operation maintains capacity for airborne reconnaissance, casualty evacuation, and the delivery of critical supplies to isolated areas. The integrated approach reflects coordinated disaster response protocols across multiple operational domains.
The deployment underscores the Navy's ongoing commitment to civilian protection during natural disasters and demonstrates inter-agency coordination in managing flood emergencies across the region.
