CEBU CITY – The National Bureau of Investigation in Central Visayas (NBI-7) is promoting its free safety training program aimed at preparing school communities for active shooter incidents. The agency conducts the educational lectures on a biweekly basis, equipping students and educators with practical knowledge on protective measures and emergency response procedures.
Maria Contessa Lastimoso, NBI-7 public information officer, underscored the importance of schools taking advantage of the training initiative. The lectures cover essential information on recognizing threats, implementing lockdown procedures, and coordinating with emergency responders during critical situations.
The training program reflects growing concerns about school safety across the region. By making these sessions available at no cost, the NBI-7 aims to reach as many educational institutions as possible and ensure that students and staff are adequately prepared to respond to potential threats.
Schools interested in scheduling the lectures are encouraged to contact the NBI-7 directly to arrange sessions that align with their academic calendars and institutional needs.
