MANILA — Jeffrey Tupas, who previously served as information officer for Davao City, has alleged that operatives from the National Bureau of Investigation made substantial offers to him when they visited his residence in North Cotabato. According to Tupas's legal representative, the NBI allegedly presented both monetary compensation and housing arrangements in the Metro Manila area during their encounter. Among the purported offers was a property located in Forbes Park, one of Makati City's most exclusive residential enclaves. The alleged proposals came as part of what the bureau characterized as a protective operation, according to the former official's account. Tupas's lawyer presented these claims regarding the NBI's approach to the former Davao City official, raising questions about the circumstances and motivations behind the agency's reported interaction.
