MANILA — National Bureau of Investigation Director Melvin Matibag confirmed on Tuesday that the agency conducted raids on August 24 at houses reportedly owned by former House Speaker Lord Allan Velasco and his spouse, Rowena.
Matibag disclosed that the NBI operations were initiated after receiving intelligence information suggesting the presence of illegal firearms at the locations in question. The director provided few additional details about the scope of the searches or their findings during the confirmation.
