MANILA — The National Bureau of Investigation has announced it will investigate Ahjay Paws Aftercare Pet Crematorium, a Bacoor City-based facility, over allegations that it improperly disposed of dead dogs and cats at an undeveloped lot in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan.
The investigation was prompted after animal remains were discovered at the vacant property. Luna and Furry Siblings, an animal rescue service, reported the discovery and filed a complaint with authorities, triggering the NBI inquiry.
The case raises concerns about proper disposal procedures at pet cremation facilities operating in the region. Officials have not yet disclosed additional details about the number of animals found or the timeline of the alleged dumping.
The investigation is ongoing, with the NBI expected to determine whether criminal violations occurred. Animal welfare advocates have called for stricter oversight of pet crematoriums to prevent similar incidents.
