NCS establishes AI Mission Centre, plans to triple engineer workforce

NCS has launched its AI Mission Centre at its Ang Mo Kio facility, signalling a major expansion of the company's artificial intelligence ambitions. The centre will serve as a hub for developing and scaling AI solutions across the group's operations and client base. As part of the initiative, NCS plans to grow its embedded AI engineer workforce to over 300 professionals, tripling current headcount dedicated to artificial intelligence projects.

The centre's establishment is paired with three partnerships designed to bring AI capabilities to high-impact sectors. Collaborations have been announced with Changi Airport Group, the Institute of Mental Health, and Life3 Biotech, with each partnership targeting specific use cases for artificial intelligence implementation. These engagements reflect NCS's strategy to move beyond proof-of-concept deployments and embed AI systems into operational environments across aviation, healthcare, and biotechnology.

The expansion underscores growing demand for AI engineering expertise in Singapore's technology sector. NCS, a subsidiary of telecommunications giant Singtel, has positioned itself as a key player in helping enterprises navigate artificial intelligence adoption. The tripling of its dedicated AI workforce suggests confidence in sustained demand for such services across the region.
