NCST delegation meets Tamil Nadu CM, Governor in official visit

The chairperson and members of the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes held separate meetings with Tamil Nadu's top officials on Monday, as part of their engagement with state leadership on matters concerning the welfare and rights of scheduled tribes.
The delegation first met with Chief Minister M.K. Stalin at his official residence, followed by a visit to Lok Bhavan where they called on Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar. The specific agenda and outcomes of these meetings were not immediately disclosed.
The NCST, a constitutional body established to safeguard the interests of scheduled tribes across India, regularly conducts field visits and holds consultations with state administrations to assess the implementation of welfare schemes and address grievances from tribal communities.
