NDA allies join opposition in demanding clarity from election commission

Three NDA constituent parties—the LJP (Ram Vilas), RLM, and TDP—have formally requested the Election Commission of India to address mounting questions about reported disagreements within the constitutional body, marking a rare instance of coalition partners echoing opposition concerns.

The parties submitted their plea following public allegations regarding differences of opinion among Election Commission officials. "Public trust in the electoral system cannot be compromised," a joint statement from the parties emphasized. They urged the Election Commission to respond comprehensively to the allegations, arguing that institutional credibility directly impacts the legitimacy of electoral outcomes.
