The mayoral contest has drawn significant interest, with 24 candidates filing nominations to date for the principal civic post. The competition extends across the corporation's electoral divisions, where the stakes for local governance and development priorities remain high.
Beyond the mayoral race, ward-level contests have generated even broader participation. A total of 968 candidates have filed nomination papers to contest the ward member positions within the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation, indicating robust electoral engagement at the grassroots level of municipal governance.
