NDA government prioritises cyclone relief over political considerations

The central government has made disaster relief and welfare operations its foremost priority, according to statements from senior officials, setting aside electoral and political considerations in the wake of cyclones Arnab and Murasu. Cross-state coordination efforts are underway to expedite restoration work, with resources being mobilised from Telangana, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu to affected regions.

Damage assessments reveal the scale of destruction caused by the successive cyclones. Nearly 30,000 electricity poles that were damaged during Cyclone Arnab have been restored, while initial surveys indicate an additional 10,000 poles were damaged by the subsequent Cyclone Murasu. Power restoration remains a critical priority as authorities work to reconnect affected communities.

State administrations have assured farmers and other affected populations that relief measures will reach every impacted household. Officials have emphasised that the government's immediate focus remains on comprehensive rehabilitation rather than any other considerations. The multi-state relief coordination demonstrates efforts to pool resources efficiently and accelerate the pace of recovery operations across the affected regions.
